NORFOLK - A reward is being offered for information leading to the person or people who apparently abandoned two goats in an industrial park.
Animal Control Officer Hilary Cohen was about town Wednesday posting fliers and seeking more information.
She is advertising a reward of $300 being offered by the animal control department for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person involved with abandoning the goats found Monday on Shire Drive in Norfolk.
Cohen said she also is seeking businesses in the area which might have surveillance cameras that could have filmed the person or people who abandoned the goats.
The female goats, dubbed Tim and Billy after the two people who saw them and waited for animal control to respond, "were found standing scared in an industrial park," Cohen said.
She said they are currently in the town's care and will receive a wellness exam from a veterinarian.
An initial exam by a veterinarian found the goats "a little on the thin side, but otherwise doing well, considering their circumstances."
The goats received vaccinations, were wormed and microchips were inserted. They will be held by animal control until they are ready to be adopted, Cohen said.
She encourages anyone who might have information about the goats to call her at the police station at 508-440-2816 or 508-528-3232.
