An obituary was published Saturday, Oct. 10, for Helen W. Mushey, 85, of North Attleboro.

NORTH ATTLEBORO - Helen W. Mushey, 85, of Ellis Road, North Attleboro, formerly of Marco Island, Fla., and Jamestown, R.I., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009. She was the wife of the late John I. Mushey.
Born in Pawtucket, R.I. on Feb. 23, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Virginia (Goffette) Welch.
Helen was a "Pioneer" telephone operator during World War II in Wickford, R.I.
She was a former model, and also appeared as an exercise girl on Channel 10 television in the 1950's. Helen volunteered for many years at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
Helen is survived by a daughter, Lisa Ryan and her husband John of North Attleboro with whom she made her home during her illness. She also leaves her grandchildren: Jack and Grace Ryan of North Attleboro, and Portia Hensley of Denver, Colo.; her sister, Nancy Goulet of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Jamestown, R.I.; and her brother Lawrence Welch of Spring Hill, Fla. She was the mother of the late Kristin Morrison and the late Holly Morrison Hensley, and wife of the late Ralph Morrison. She was the sister of the late Doris Bielagus Germani, Frances Sullivan and James Welch.
All funeral arrangements under the direction of the John J. Diamond Funeral Home are private.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of the way Helen lived her life, please commit a random act of kindness, mend a broken friendship, laugh often, and most of all, love one another.
