Obituaries were published for Judith Ann (Woodbury) Foley, 73, of Mansfield, and Christine Evelyn (Allen) Burke, 64, of Norton.

Judith Ann (Woodbury) Foley, 73

MANSFIELD - Judith Ann (Woodbury) Foley, 73, of Lancashire Drive, Mansfield, died with the same grace and elegance in which she lived her life on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009 at Faulkner Hospital, in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, following a brave and courageous health battle of many years. She was the beloved wife of Paul Foley, to whom she was married on July 2, 1960.

Born in Rockland, Mass. on Aug. 15, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Evelyn (Cheney) Woodbury. Raised and educated in her native community, Mrs. Foley was a 1954 graduate of Rockland High School.

She resided in Mansfield since 1991, having moved there from Overland Park, Kan., where she had resided for five years. Previously, Mrs. Foley resided in Scottsdale, Ariz.; Erie, Pa.; Weymouth and Quincy. In earlier years, she was employed as a telephone operator and later as a clerk in the revenue accounting office of AT&T in Quincy, and was employed as a temporary employment agency recruiter for Manpower in Erie, Pa. However, her proudest accomplishment was that of being a dedicated and devoted homemaker to her husband and children.

A woman of strong religious convictions, she was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Mansfield, where she worshipped regularly until illness prevented her from attending church.

A woman of style, she will be lovingly remembered by her family for her elegance and grace and the manner in which she presented and carried herself.

An ardent bridge player, she enjoyed and excelled at interior decorating and gardening.

If it were possible to obtain a doctorate degree in advanced shopping, she would have been the first person to receive the honor of a Ph.D as a "professional shopper."

In addition to her cherished husband of 49 years, she leaves two children, Brian E. Foley Sr. of Phoenix, Ariz. and Deborah E. Foley and her partner, Mary E. Guerriero, of Olathe, Kan.; a grandson, Brian E. Foley Jr. of Erie, Pa.; a sister, Faith Tougas of Winston-Salem, N.C.; two brothers, Fred Woodbury of West Bridgewater and Charles Brigham of Maine, and several extended family members and dear friends.

She was the maternal grandmother of the late Justin Foley and was the sister of the late John Woodbury.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Sunday, Oct. 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave. (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at top of exit, proceed 3/4 mile, on the left), Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.

A children's room will be available during visitation.

Those in need of local transportation to visitation may simply call the funeral home at 508-695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, Oct. 19 at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106), Mansfield. There will be no funeral cortege from the funeral home.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Mansfield.

Following cemetery services, an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.

Flowers are accepted and would need to be delivered on Sunday, Oct. 18 between the hours of 8 and 10 a.m. or, if desired, memorial donations in Mrs. Foley's memory may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation Inc., a registered 501 (c) (3) organization, 161 Commonwealth Ave., North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the Jimmy Fund of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
