Top Headlines Edward J. Lefebvre, 79 ATTLEBORO - Edward J. Lefebvre, 79, of Birch Street died Wednesday, November 4, 2009 in Norwood Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born January 16, 1930 in Attleboro, he was a son of the late Arthur and Jeannette (Lemire) Lefebvre. Edward has been a resident of Attleboro nearly all his life. He graduated from St. Joseph's Elementary School in Attleboro and St. Raphael's Academy in Pawtucket, RI. He worked as a sand bobber polisher at the Balfour Co. in both Attleboro and North Attleboro for 43 years until retiring at age 65. Edward was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War, having fought on the Korean peninsula and was stationed 18 months in Australia. He has been an active member of the B.P.O.E. "Elks" in Attleboro for the past 15 years and was a member of the Foreman's Club at Balfour. He loved tennis, snow skiing, and was an avid handball player. He was also a longtime member of the Attleboro YMCA. Edward enjoyed the pleasure of his cabin in the mountains of St. Philemon, Quebec for many years. He is survived by his former wife, Carmen Lopez and a daughter, Jeannette Dailey of Florida; a son, Edward K. Lefebvre of North Attleboro; a cousin whom he resided, Doris Frazier of Attleboro; three grandchildren, Nichole Theroux, Jason Cloutier and Brandon Lefebvre; 5 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 8 at 2 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. Burial will be held at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. (DeFreitas) Massey, 62, of Cumberland, died October 29th at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Angela (Aleixo) DeFreitas Lallier. She was the step daughter of the late Ludovic Lallier. She was a retired hairdresser. She was a volunteer for the National Suicide Prevention Help Line and the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen. Her daughters, Jessica Schad of Warwick, and Kristie Vaden of Chepachet, her brothers Gene and Richard DeFreitas and her grandchildren Corey Bjorklund and Evan Schad survive her. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 2:00-4:00 at Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Memorial Service following at 4:00 pm.
