Plainville teen snatched

PLAINVILLE - A Brockton man was held on $10,000 bail Friday after he allegedly kidnapped and robbed a 16-year-old Plainville boy Tuesday night.

Charles DeJesus, 18, of 7 Tiffany Drive, Apt. 1, in Brockton, was arrested by Plainville police executing a warrant Friday, Detective James Floyd said.

DeJesus and two unidentified accomplices arrived at the teen's house and allegedly forced him into a car, at which point they drove off, police said.

While in the car, the three suspects allegedly took the teen's wallet, cell phone and gold chain, reportedly as payment for money the teen owed them, Floyd said.

DeJesus then allegedly said he would kill the teen if he told anyone about what had happened, while another suspect pulled a knife, Floyd said. The suspects then allegedly stopped the car and released the teen a short distance from his home, Floyd said.

The teen and his mother reported the incident to police on Wednesday.

DeJesus did not put up a fight during the arrest, but has not cooperated with the investigation, Floyd said.

He has been charged with breaking and entering at night, larceny over $250, kidnapping, armed robbery, intent to commit a crime, intimidation of a witness and assault and battery.

He was being held at the Dedham House of Corrections Friday night, Floyd said.

The incident remains under investigation and police are still working to identify the other two suspects in the car.

Anyone who might have seen anything suspicious in the Pleasant Street area Tuesday night is asked to call Floyd at 508-695-7115.
