REHOBOTH - Local police have charged a Bourne man with assault after a disturbance at a home on Blanding Road.

The disturbance occurred the morning of Aug. 8 after an altercation between several persons at a home at 16 Blanding Road, police said.

Damen J. Gonzales, 26, of 11 Church Lane, Apt. 4, Bourne, has been charged with assault and disorderly conduct, and is scheduled to appear in Taunton District Court on Oct. 26 for arraignment on the charges, police said.

On the day of the disturbance, police had been called to the scene but soon learned the Gonzalez had fled the scene. Further investigation revealed Gonzalez had assaulted a 47-year-old woman who lived at the home.

The woman was not injured in the assault and was Gonzalez's girlfriend's mother, police added.
