All voters in Rehoboth will cast their ballots for the Dec. 8 Senate primary at only one precinct: the Gladys L. Hurrell Rehoboth Senior Center, 55 Bay State Road. The polls will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will be only one special voter registration session before the primary, scheduled for 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18 at the town clerk's office. That's the final date to register to be eligible to vote in the special state primary.

Voter registration may also take place during the town clerk's regular business hours, Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. to noon. Mail-in registrations are available, but must be postmarked by Nov. 18 and received by Nov. 23 to be eligible to vote in the special state primary. Halloween fun

The children's Halloween party previously announced for Saturday, Oct. 31 at the Rehoboth Fire Department Station 2, will not be held this year. A children's party will be taking place 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Station 3 only. Station 3 is located in the south section of town on Pleasant Street.

Tickets to "Ghost Stories in the Cemetery," an annual guided tour/walk through Rehoboth's historical Village Cemetery will be sold at the library 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The event, which includes tales of local hauntings from area residents, will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1. Parking is at Redway Plain. Space is limited. Donation is $6. Upcoming events ...

Folk show - Rehoboth Antiquarian Society will host its annual folk art, antique and artisans show, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Open Friday Nov. 6, 4 to 9 p.m. and Saturday Nov. 7, 9 to 4 p.m. at Francis Farm, 27 Francis Farm Road (off County Street) in Rehoboth. More than 54 crafters are expected. New this year will be workshops and music. Proceeds benefit the Carpenter Museum. Call 508-252-3031. No admission fee.

Museum dinner - The Carpenter Museum, 4 Locust Ave., will host a lecture and workshop followed by dinner on Nov. 1. Local historian and educator Rhonda Fazio will present The Flax Project, which will focus on her year-long study of growing and processing flax. Fazio's talk begins at 4 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres in the barn, followed by dinner at 5:30 p.m. The menu includes ham, potatoes, salad, beans, flax bread, and homemade pies. Admission is $13. Dighton craft fair - The St. Nicholas Holiday Craft Fair will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7 in the parish Life Center, 499 Spring St. in North Dighton. Church psychic fair - The First Spiritualist Church of Brockton is holding a psychic fair from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Anawan Grange in Rehoboth. There will be many readers and vendors. Admission is $2. Readings cost $20 for 20 minutes. The event is sponsored by Positive New Beginnings Holistic Center of East Providence. Church bazaar - The Rehoboth Congregational Church's annual Christmas Bazaar, "In the Village," takes place 4-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7. There will be a turkey supper on Friday night with seatings at 5 and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children under 12. Reservations are required. Call the church office at 508-252-4545. The bazaar includes a silent auction, country store, home-baked goods, candy and cookie walks, children's room, book nook and caricaturist. There is a luncheon on Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Enjoy opera - "An Evening of Opera" will be held at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at Goff Memorial Hall. Soprano Kathryne Jennings and tenor Fredric Scheff will be joined by other vocalists as they perform works by Mozart, Verdi, and Puccini. Hear about holiday

decorating at garden club The Rehoboth Garden Club's next meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 9 at the Carpenter Museum, Bay State Road. Members and guests will be treated to a demonstration of home holiday decorations by De Feldman, the past president of the Rhode Island Federation of Garden Clubs. She will be creating a variety of decorations suitable for members' homes. This will be an open meeting and members are invited to bring guests. Guests will pay a $5 fee. The meeting hostess will be Pat Knowles, assisted by Diane Wald, Marilyn Greene and Diane Biello.

Story and craft time, a program of stories and related crafts for children 3 through kindergarten, will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesdays and 2 p.m. Thursdays through Nov. 19.

Toys for Tots

The Rehoboth Helping Hands Project is once again organizing its annual Holiday Toys for Tots campaign and will be accepting toys, books and other holiday gifts for Rehoboth children in need through Nov. 22. The group prefers unwrapped toys, unless you call ahead and get an item from Helping Hands Director Steve Martin.

Helping Hands also will be organizing its Blizzard of Giving program where Christmas lists from needy children in town are collected and posted at the schools and Rehoboth Post Office. People can then buy the item, gift wrap it and return it for distribution. The list of holiday gift items for donation will be posted by the end of October. Senior citizen club events

The regular meetings of the Rehoboth Senior Citizens Club's regular meetings are held at 1:30 p.m. on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the Rehoboth Senior Center at 55 Bay State Road. Upcoming events will include:

Three-day trip to Atlantic City, Nov. 15-17 at a cost is $265, based on double occupancy. Trip includes bus transportation, driver's tip, two dinner buffets, $20 on arrival, a $15 food coupon, and a free show. Try zumba - A new weekly zumba gold class will be held at 10:15 a.m. Fridays. The class is 45 minutes and is taught by an instructor certified in zumba dance. The class is geared toward seniors, and beginners are welcome.

Two new computer classes - A one-on-one beginner computer class takes place weekly at 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays. Registration is required. A basic computer class will be held weekly at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. This class will be in a group. The senior center's resident computer whiz, Aaron Tarver, will answer questions.

Gert's Cafe is open for its 18th season. Call Cheryl Maiorano to make reservations. The cost of lunch remains at $3.

Nurse to visit - Rehoboth Town Nurse, Lynn Allienello will be at the Rehoboth Council on Aging every other month on Mondays from 10 to 11 a.m.

Meals on Wheels drivers needed - Drivers with a couple of free hours once or twice a week who enjoy visiting homebound seniors are needed; mileage is reimbursed.

Wanabee weight meeting - The group meets at no cost on Mondays at 11:30 a.m.

Tai chi at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays. The cost is $3.

Line dancing at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays. The cost is $2.

Balancing exercise and upper cardio at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The class is free.

Reiki class every other Thursday at 10 a.m. Cost is $15 for a 30-minute session.

Support food pantry

The Rehoboth Helping Hands Food Pantry is a tax-exempt organization as part of the Shaw's Community Rewards Program, by where Shaw's donates a portion of purchases made by those who enroll to the food pantry.
