BOSTON - Sen. Marc R. Pacheco (D-Taunton) will hold a Health & Human Services and Employment Assistance Fair at Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical High School on Saturday, November 21, from 10:00AM - 3:00PM. The fair will host representatives from various state agencies, non-profit groups, and private businesses that will offer assistance to families, individuals, and small businesses mainly in the areas of health care, human services, employment, and financial literacy.
"In this time of great economic uncertainty, many individuals and families simply don't know where to turn for help," said Senator Pacheco. "This fair will bring together a large array of assistance groups that will be able to provide information and counseling for people who are hurting. Assembling all of these groups under one roof will allow people to speak to many different agency experts on a wide range of topics at the same place, on the same day."
Pacheco hopes that this event will provide families, individuals, and small businesses with knowledge of the services that may be available to them and how to go about accessing those services. The fair will provide people with the opportunity to have face-to-face interaction with agency personnel who are well suited to provide this valuable information.
Among the groups slated to participate in the fair are the State Unemployment Office and its Rapid Response Team, Morton Hospital, area banks, small business counselors, and many other groups who specialize in fuel assistance, housing issues, senior citizen services, veteran's services, and more. Also invited to participate in the event are food pantries, clothing providers and religious outreach groups.
