Attleboro - Roger and Rachel (Bodell) Choiniere of South Attleboro celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 29 at a party with 70 family members and friends hosted by their children and their spouses at their daughter Suzanne's house.

The couple married on Aug. 29, 1959 at St. Teresa's Church in Pawtucket. A reception at the LeFoyer Hall in Pawtucket followed the ceremony and the couple honeymooned in Niagara Falls, Canada.

Roger, originally of Central Falls, R.I., graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1952, and attended the University of Rhode Island. Rachel, a Pawtucket native, graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1957, and also from comptometer operator school.

The couple met while working at the Rex Venetian Blind Co., in 1957.

Roger worked at Rex for 19 years, St. Johnsbury Trucking Co. for 20 years, Aborn Shade for 20 years, and has been working at The Blind King for the past 10 years. Rachel worked for Rex Venetian Blind Co., in 1957 and then again from 1967 until they closed. She worked for the Crown Yarn Dye Co., for 22 years and has been working at Rhode Island Textile for the past 9 years.

The couple has seven children: Roger Choiniere Jr., 49, of North Providence, R.I.; Leo Choiniere, 47, of Pawtucket; Jeanne (Rachel) Dow, 46, of Riverside, R.I.; Lionel Choiniere, 43, of South Attleboro; Suzanne Burns, 40, of South Attleboro; Laurence Choiniere, 39, of Attleboro; and Michelle Choiniere, 37, of South Attleboro.

The couple also has 26 grandchildren: Derrick Choiniere, Roger Choiniere III, Gino Choiniere, Madison Choiniere, Jason Little, Jarred Little, Leo Choiniere Jr., Marc Choiniere, Joshua Choiniere, Ryan Dow, Brent Dow, Edward Dow Jr., Nicole Choiniere, Stephen Choiniere, Jessica Choiniere, Hannah Choiniere, Brian Walsh Jr., Dylan Sulham, Krystal Sulham, Ashley Sulham, Jessica Burns, Amanda Burns, Felicia Choiniere, Sabrina Choiniere, Gabrielle Choiniere and Aurora Lineman.

They also have one great-grandchild with another three on the way.
