Coming food events

Winter farmer's market opens in North Attleboro Sunday. A Winter Farmer's and Artisan Foods Market will open Sunday, Nov. 8, 1 to 5 p.m., at the Masonic Temple in the downtown.

Market manager David Scanlan said he has secured commitments from several producers for the weekly market, with products ranging from baked goods to cheese to jams, jellies and honey. He is seeking more vendors looking to sell their locally produced foods and agricultural crafts.

He said he would also like to host a weekly local fundraiser and wants interested groups to contact him to reserve a date. Scanlan can be reached at 508-409-1534 or by e-mail at dsca995@cs.com.

In addition, Scanlan is looking for aspiring musicians to provide entertainment to market patrons. "It's not a paying gig, rather a way to get noticed and have a little fun, too," he said.
