Sgt. Michael P. Johns

FOXBORO - Sgt. Michael Johns returned home to Fort Bragg, N.C. on Nov. 12 after a year-long deployment to Iraq. The son of Michael and Janis Johns of Foxboro, he was promoted to sergeant Oct. 1 and had been awarded the Combat Infantry Badge in March 2009 while serving in Iraq.

Sgt. Johns graduated basic training at Fort Benning, Ga. in June 2007, and that was followed by Airborne School in July 2007.

He was welcomed home by his wife, Katelyn. Michael and Katelyn were married April 25, 2008, followed by a formal church wedding with family and friends on Aug. 24, 2008 in Statesville, N.C. Sgt. Johns is assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, N.C., where the couple is currently residing.

Brian E. Caldeira TAUNTON - Air Force Reserve Airman Brian E. Caldeira graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Maryann and Neil Caldeira of White Pine Drive in Taunton and is a 2005 graduate of Bristol-Plymouth High School in Taunton. He completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Brandon J. Cheshier

REHOBOTH - Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Brandon J. Cheshier graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Roberta Dias of Peck St. in Rehoboth.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

The airman earned distinction as an honor graduate of the course.
