NORTH ATTLEBORO - Cable customers will be able to choose between service providers beginning next month.

Verizon has notified the town that it will begin selling its FiOS service starting Nov. 2, Town Administrator Mark Fisher said.

Verizon will join Comcast as one of the town's cable television service providers.

When negotiating the contract with Verizon, selectmen were initially concerned that Verizon would begin offering Fios service before making connections to allow cable access programming offered by North TV to be shown on the network.

However, Fisher said the North TV studio, town hall and Woodcock administration building will be connected to the network by Nov. 18. The high school, middle school and police station will be connected by December, a month ahead of schedule, Fisher said.
