Pottery is being exhibited in November in the Sweatt meeting room. Potters Place, a nonprofit cooperative pottery studio and school located in Walpole, is showcasing members work. Pub has history One of several Irish pubs in Boston owned by the Walpole businessman who plans on opening the town's first Irish pub at the Anvil Pub has quite the history. John Somers, who hopes to open the local pub/restaurant early next year, runs The Green Dragon Tavern, which dates back to 1657. Located on the Freedom Trail, it counted Paul Revere and John Hancock among its regulars. It was in this tavern the plans for the invasion of Lexington and Concord were overheard, leading to the famous ride of Paul Revere. ConCom training Conservation commission members William Bauser, Dianne Demarais, Leo Immonen, Barry Kassler and Christopher Yarworth have completed the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions's Fundamentals for Conservation Commissioners training course. The goal of the eight-unit course is to provide conservation commissioners and others with the basic knowledge and practical tools essential to carrying out many responsibilities, from administering the Wetlands Protection Act to open space planning and protection. Scholarship earned The Wrentham Citizens Alliance awarded its 2009 James F. Dolan III Memorial Scholarship to King Philip Regional High School senior Rachel Turner of Wrentham. Turner's essay on the topic, "Do My Ideas Matter?," was selected as the best essay from among the many entries submitted by King Philip seniors.
