Foxboro teen faces charges in fatal crash

FOXBORO - A Foxboro teen was charged Friday with drunk driving, death resulting, after a passenger in his car was killed in an early morning crash on Route 10 in Cranston.
Sonny Pham, 19, of 22 Hartwell St. in Foxboro, was arraigned in Third District Court in Warwick, R.I.
Rhode Island State Police said Pham's car crashed through a median and struck a guardrail about 1:30 a.m. Friday
The crash occurred as Pham's car was heading south on the highway and entered the northbound lane, police said. No other vehicles were involved.
Erica Rose, 19, of Coventry, R.I., a rear seat passenger, was killed.
A second passenger, Valerie Goulet, 19, of Milford, suffered injuries that authorities said were not life-threatening.
Pham and the two women are students at the University of Rhode Island.
State police said none of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts.
Judge Mary McCaffrey set Pham's bail at $15,000.
