CAMBRIDGE - Senior Kendra Cheng of Franklin captured first place in two events, while Erin Foley produced a first and second place finish as the Bishop Feehan High School girls' swimming team captured its first-ever MIAA Division 2 State Championship Meet title at Harvard University.

Capturing first place in both the 200 and 400 freestyle relay events, good for 64 points, coach Kyle VanDenBerghe's Shamrocks compiled a grand total of 264 points, a whopping 89-point margin of victory over Southern Conference rival Bishop Stang.

The Boston University-bound Cheng finished first in both the 100 butterfly (58.65) and 100 breaststroke (1:08.13), while also being a member of the both first place relay teams.

Cheng outdistanced Winchester's Grace Senko (59.14) for the 100 butterfly title, one of three swimmers to break the one-minute mark. Then she nipped Norwell's Emily Metta (1:08.9) for the breaststroke championship.

Foley delivered a slew of points too, winning the 200 freestyle (1:54.9) by a stroke over Winchester's Suzi Stein, while taking second in the 500 freestyle (a 13-second margin ahead of the third place finisher), in addition to also being a member of those two title-taking relay teams.
The Seekonk High Warriors finished sixth among the 17 schools entered into the meet with 140 points. Junior Jacqui Johnson came through with a third place finish in the 200 freestyle and a fourth in the 100 freestyle, while Kaila Greene also had a pair of placements.
