Mansfield says thanks for Secret Shop



To the editor: On Saturday December 5, the Mansfield Social Club (MSC) held the 34th annual Secret Shop at Jordon Jackson Elementary School. Over 500 children attended the shop and with the help of volunteer Elves these children were able to purchase holiday gifts for family and friends.

The shop's success was made possible by the many volunteers who assisted in numerous ways. The MSC would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers for their assistance in planning and implementing this activity.

In addition, we would like to thank the many donors who contributed to the shop, the raffle and the concessions. And finally, thank you to all the families who attended the shop, your smiling children make the day a joy and success for us all. After the 2008 Secret Shop the MSC was able to donate $1,000 to the Laurie A. Smith Scholarship fund and $1,000 to the Mansfield Food Pantry. Proceeds from this year's Secret Shop will likewise be returned to the Mansfield community.
