Woman drives car up onto wall

ATTLEBORO - A city woman escaped injury after driving over a retaining wall in the parking lot of Stop & Shop supermarket on Pleasant Street Wednesday afternoon.

Marie Robinson, 56, of Attleboro, was able to walk away from the accident but her car had to be towed away on a flatbed truck, police said.

Robinson became distracted by her GPS system while driving in the supermarket parking lot and drove over the retaining wall, which separates that parking lot from the parking lot of the Stop & Shop gas station, according to police.

The gas station parking lot is about 3 feet below the supermarket lot.

The accident occurred around 1:15 p.m. and was under investigation by Patrolman Paul McCann.
