NORTH ATTLEBORO - As part of its annual recognition program, the North Attleborough & Plainville Chamber of Commerce will honor nominated businesses for Business of the Year and Good Neighbor awards.

Winners will be chosen by a panel of business owners based on the demonstrated commitment of the nominees to the business community. The criteria include:

BUSINESS OF THE YEAR - Nominations may be based on some or all of the following criteria: Staying power as an established business; growth in number of employees; increase in sales and/or unit volume as an indication of continued growth; innovativeness of product or service offered; contributions by the nominee to aid community-oriented projects. The award will be given to the business in the chamber area that meets the aforementioned qualifications.

The North Attleboro branch of Rockland Trust at 16 E. Washington St. will be collecting hats and mittens for the Attleboro Area Council for Children's initiative, "Christmas Is for Kids" gift drive. The branch will be collecting the clothing items beginning this Monday, and continuing through Saturday, Dec. 13. Financial donations will also be accepted.
