FOXBORO — A town worker faces domestic assault charges after his former wife was taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence with serious injuries, authorities say.
Glen Saltis, 49, a local electrician and the town’s wiring inspector, was pulled from the Neponset Reservoir after police responded to his nearby home at 72 Ridge Road, Police Chief Edward O’Leary said.
Saltis faces domestic assault and battery and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon in Wrentham District Court. He was taken to Norwood Hospital following his arrest and the scheduling of his arraignment was uncertain, according to police.
O’Leary did not say why Saltis was in the reservoir, but said police searched for him after a neighbor reported someone in the water.
The incident occurred at his home and police were preparing to execute a search warrant for evidence, O’Leary said.
His wife was able to flee the home and apparently drove to another house for help, according to police.
The Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office was requested to become involved in the investigation due to the nature of the incident, O’Leary said. The office’s crime scene unit was also requested to respond, O’Leary said.
It could not immediately be determined if Saltis had a lawyer.
