NORTH ATTLEBORO - A North Attleboro High School senior says his right to free speech was violated when he was issued two three-hour detentions for using profanity in a Twitter post about the school.

"I don't think a comment I made at 7 p.m. on my personal Twitter account - not on the school's Facebook page or Twitter account, but my own personal page - is the school's business," said Nick Barbieri, 18.

Fight this case, cost the town money, then complain when you have a budget shortfall.

End this now. Sooner is better than later.
