Serial bank robber sentenced to 12 1/2 years

A California man federal authorities say is a serial bank robber and a suspect in a spree of heists, including holdups in South Attleboro and Seekonk, is now in federal prison for a bank robbery last year in Pawtucket.

Thomas J. Flannery, 37, of Sunnyvale, Calif., was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Providence to 12 1/2 years in prison in connection with the Feb. 14, 2011, robbery of a Pawtucket Credit Union branch office in Pawtucket, U. S. Attorney Peter F. Neronha and Pawtucket Police Chief Paul King announced Wednesday.
