NORTH ATTLEBORO - Police say an alleged shoplifter fled a security office at Walmart once he learned the cops were on the way, shoving a store employee on his way out and leaving his accused accomplice behind.

The alleged shoplifter, Robert S. Lariviere, 25, of Cumberland, was later arrested by police when the car he was a passenger in was stopped on Route 1 by Patrolman Richard McQuade shortly after the incident around 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to police.
