The state Department of Correction will appeal a federal judge's decision to grant a convicted murder and former Mansfield resident a sex-change operation at taxpayer's expense.

Department of Correction spokeswoman Diane Wiffin released a statement today confirming the department will appeal the decision made by U.S. District Court Judge Mark Wolf on Sept 4. Wolf ruled that Michelle Kosliek, who was known as Robert when he murdered his wife Cheryl in 1990, is eligible for a state-funded sex-change operation.

Even if I were to agree the man has a right to do what he wants with his own body I fail to see the connection to tax payers have to pay for it. What will be next the right to a Harvard Education ? Plus if they go through with this procedure where will they then in prison the person a female prison ? Does that conflict with the nature of his crime?

This case is insane. Since when did sex change surgery become life or death.

As far as voting is concerned to far in any directions does not work. Each side has its good and bad points.

Only an insane person would view a sex change operation as necessary. If this
murderer were free the insurance companies would not consider sex change.

If something is elective surgery for a free person then it is the same for a jailed person.

Left or right we need to apply common sence. If we give the jailers all they want or need to be happy then maybe people will want to be in jail...

This is the face of Liberalism in America. The choices people make by electing secular progressives has consequences. Maybe when you go to the polls this November, use some conservative guidelines when choosing a candidate. If the person is running on a platform that proposes more government control, more restrictions, more regulations, higher taxes, redistribution of wealth, and other Liberal social issues, maybe this time choose another candidate.
