To the editor:

Having just read Bob Bamberg’s latest Pet Day column (“Pay attention to your dog’s pads in winter,” Dec. 31), it was a shock to see his obituary in Monday’s Sun Chronicle. What a loss to our community! Bob was a gift and a fountain of knowledge to pet owners and a prime example of what wonderful qualities can usually be found in one who loves animals.

God bless you, Bob Bamberg. May you rest in peace and enjoy in perpetuity all the innocents over the rainbow bridge just waiting for a soul such as yours. And deepest sympathy and thanks to your family for sharing you with the rest of us.
