Rehoboth



It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around Rehoboth, even before Thanksgiving. These events are planned:

Mrs. Claus will visit the Carpenter Museum at the 'Twas the Night Before Christmas Teddy Bear Tea from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5. Call 508-252-4236 for reservations. The Blanding Library is located at 124 Bay State Road. The Carpenter Museum will close for the winter season from December through March. Appointments in the interim may be made by calling 508-252-3031.

Breakfast with Santa, sponsored by Triad, will be held 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12 at the Hurrell Senior Center. The menu is pancakes, bacon, juice, coffee and hot chocolate. Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for children. Seating is limited. The senior center is at 55 Bay State Road.
Join Rehoboth seniors for events

REHOBOTH - The Rehoboth Senior Citizens Club will resume its regular meetings on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 1:30 p.m. at the Hurrell Senior Center, Bay State Road.


Sgt. Michael P. Johns

FOXBORO - Sgt. Michael Johns returned home to Fort Bragg, N.C. on Nov. 12 after a year-long deployment to Iraq. The son of Michael and Janis Johns of Foxboro, he was promoted to sergeant Oct. 1 and had been awarded the Combat Infantry Badge in March 2009 while serving in Iraq.

Trash Removal: No pickup.
Drop off at the transfer station on Plain St., Route 118 on Tues., 4-7 p.m. and Sat., 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Paint cans/waste are accepted year-round. Motor oil can be dropped off at the highway department on specific days, and the next day will be July 9, 8 a.m.-noon. Call the board of health at 508-253-3099 to find out future dates. Stickers are needed to remove trash. They cost $25 and can be purchased at the transfer station. Appliances, furniture, or anything non-recylable require coupons and stickers.
