REHOBOTH - At the Dufort farm off Reservoir Street, about 50 black and brown cattle graze contentedly on tall grass, bulking up for the day when they will become steaks, roasts and hamburger on American tables.

Unlike the majority of cows, the Herefords and Hereford-Angus mixed breeds feed exclusively on grass. They also receive none of the hormones and antibiotics given to feedlot cattle that account for much of U.S. beef.
