REHOBOTH - A federal lawsuit charging a town police officer with making illegal background checks on a former selectman has been dismissed with the agreement of both parties.

Attorneys for Christopher A. Morra and his wife Tracy and Officer James Casey agreed to settle the 2010 case in which the Morras charged Casey with making improper checks using the criminal offender record information system.
