SEEKONK - The head of Columbia Gas this week admitted mistakes were made regarding the company's response to the catastrophic mill fire at 36 Maple Avenue on May 1.

A gas line, which was supposed to have been shut off three years ago, was still in operation when the building caught fire. One of the building's walls fell on the gas pipe, rupturing it and causing gas to leak into the air. The building had been condemned.
