PROVIDENCE - The Rev. Fr. Brian Shanley, President of Providence College, was relating that one of the most important conversations that he had with the late Friar Athletic Director, basketball coach and Big East Conference founder Dave Gavitt was the importance of picking the right coach.

Over the past year, PC Athletic Director Bob Driscoll has added five new coaches to the Friar roster, the latest being men's lacrosse coach Chris Gabrielli, a UMass-Amherst product who coached for the past six seasons at Duke University.
