FOXBORO - "Next Man Up" may have become the official slogan of the 2013 New England Patriots.

With linebacker Jerod Mayo the latest member of the team to have gone on injured reserve, having suffered a season-ending torn pectoral muscle in Sunday's 30-27 win over the New Orleans Saints, the rest of the team has been left searching for answers about how to proceed in to the rest of their season, which begins this Sunday at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets (1 p.m.; Ch. 4, 12).
