HAMDEN, Conn.- Robin Cassella of East Taunton, Mass. was inducted into the Tau Delta chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association Honor Society, during a ceremony at Quinnipiac University on October 18.
Students with at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average with 60 semester credit hours completed and students with at least a 3.25 GPA for communication studies courses with 12 semester credit hours completed are eligible to be inducted into Lambda Pi Eta.
Lambda Pi Eta strives to recognize, foster and reward outstanding scholastic achievement in communication studies; stimulate interest in the field of communication; promote and encourage professional development among communication majors; provide an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas in the field of communication; establish and maintain closer relationships between faculty and students; and explore options for graduate education in communication studies.
Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) has more than 400 active chapters at four-year colleges and universities worldwide. LPH was founded in 1985 at the University of Arkansas. LPH became a part of the National Communication Association (NCA) in 1988, and the official honor society of the NCA in July 1995.
TAUNTON - Mr. Tom Neville, Coyle & Cassidy High School class of 1981, was pleased to present Zachary Smith, son Mr. Greg Smith and Ms. Maureen St. Martin both of Taunton and Abigail Denis, daughter of Bruce and Christine Dennis of Taunton, with a scholarship in memory of his late brother Tim Neville, CCHS class of 1973.
TAUNTON - Taunton's Haley Bonenfant, a 2009 Coyle and Cassidy High School graduate, has been awarded a $1,000 college scholarship from Experian. She is the daughter of Experian employee Lisa Bonenfant.
