Personal Best Karate, Norton
ABOUT HIM: From Norton, graduated Norton High School and currently lives in Easton
WHY YOUR FIELD? I started when I was four and a half just taking class. While going to class, I worked through the ranks. I originally wanted to be a video game designer but realized I was good at martial arts and pursued that path. I enjoyed teaching and helping people reach their goals.
BEST CAREER ADVICE: Do what you love and make sure you enjoy the people you work with.
HARDEST LESSON LEARNED: Being professional means not just being that part while you’re at work, it means you have to walk that walk all the time. You have to be that way all the time.
MENTOR(S) Tracy Rappold and Chris Rappold, owners of Personal Best Karate. Tracy was my first karate instructor and even to this day she loves what she does – bettering people’s lives. She loves martial arts more than anyone and it is very inspiring. Chris is a successful business person, and he helped me understand and taught me how the behind-the-scenes work of a successful business. Also Rolando Perez of Personal Best Karate in Medfield. He is a go-getter, not afraid of anything or anyone. Goes for what he wants and works extremely hard to be the best at whatever he does. And Michael Jordan, the best at what he did and always had tons of fun doing it. That’s where I learned to be happy with what you’re doing and be the best
GIVING BACK: I volunteer extensively through Personal Best Charity and the events and fundraisers that are held all year long, such as the Turkey Trot, Turkey Brigade, etc.
WHAT TALENT DO YOU WISH YOU HAD MOST THAT YOU DON'T NOW? I wish I could sing, dance or play an instrument.
