NORTH ATTLEBORO — Bernie Carbo, who had a legendary home run in the 1975 World Series while playing with the Boston Red Sox, will preach at 10 a.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church on Park Street.

Carbo will tell his story of baseball, recovery, and redemption. The public is invited and all ages are welcome, the church says.

Carbo will have his book, “Saving Bernie Carbo,” available for sale. He travels the country sharing his story in all venues, from churches to camps, speaking to youth groups, baseball teams and 12 Step groups.

Carbo is best known for the dramatic, pinch-hit, three-run homer he hit for the Red Sox in the eighth inning of Game 6 of the World Series.

The clout tied the score 6-all, paving the way for Carlton Fisk’s game-winning homer in the bottom of the 12th for a 7-6 Red Sox victory.
