MANSFIELD — The town still has a representative on the state board that advises the governor on local government.
Mansfield Town Counsel Paul DeRensis was reappointed by Gov. Charlie Baker to a ninth term as a member of the Massachusetts Local Government Advisory Commission. Former Gov. Deval Patrick originally appointed DeRensis to the commission.
DeRensis is the town’s paid legal advisor.
The state Local Government Advisory Commission analyzes proposed legislation affecting cities and towns, acts as an advocate for the interests of local governments and advises state officials on their needs. The commission meets regularly with the governor and state legislative leaders.
“I am honored by this opportunity for public service, and will do my best to offer ideas and input to the governor and his team that will help all of the communities of Massachusetts,” DeRensis said.
