NORTON - A local man is on probation after admitting to driving drunk when he crashed into trees on West Hodges Street last month, injuring a passenger in his pickup truck.

Joseph M. Mowry, 19, of 61 Charlotte Ave., in Norton, admitted in Attleboro Court that he was twice the legal limit for intoxication at the time of the early morning crash on March 5.

His case was continued without a finding for one year with probation on Wednesday. He must attend alcohol driver education classes.

The passenger, 21-year-old Dylan M. Tocchio of Norton, suffered a head injury and was treated at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, according to police and a hospital spokeswoman.

Mowry and two other passengers were not injured or declined treatment, according to police.
