WRENTHAM — A suspect in a spree of area gas station holdups has been indicted by a Norfolk County Grand Jury in connection to the robberies in Wrentham and Plainville.

Joseph A. Catarius, 23, faces arraignment in Dedham Superior Court on May 8 for two counts of armed robbery while masked, according to court records.

The charges stem from holdups Dec. 4 at the Shell Gas station on Route 1A in Wrentham and New Year’s Eve at the Mobil Gas station on Route 1 in Plainville.

Catarius, of 208 Ellis Road in North Attleboro, is currently serving time for a probation violation on a separate larceny case in Wrentham District Court.

He also faces charges in Attleboro District Court related to an attempted robbery Jan. 3 at the Shell Gas station on Pleasant Street in Attleboro.
