Lexi Nelson

FOXBORO - Foxboro High tennis standout Lexi Nelson, who is also a member of the Warriors' swimming and cross country teams and ranked No. 1 academically in her senior class, has been selected as the MIAA "Student Athlete of the Month" for March.

Nelson owns a 4.85 grade point average. She is the vice president of the National Honor Society and treasurer of the Spanish National Honor Society and Math Team. She recently earned a perfect score on the Advanced Placement Spanish exam and has received various academic awards throughout her high school career.

In the Foxboro community, Nelson is a lifeguard/aquatics instructor and child-watch staff member at the local YMCA. She also volunteers at Hay Harmony where she works with children with disabilities.

Nelson volunteers with Foxboro High School clubs where members meet regularly and interact with peers in the Integration Program.

"Alexandra is such an extraordinary young lady," said swimming coach Naomi Boucher. "She always goes above and beyond to assist others before herself."

Nelson captains the tennis and swim teams at Foxboro High. She qualified for the MIAA Sectional Tournament in the 100 butterfly event this past season. In previous seasons, she was a three-time MIAA sectional qualifier and two-time MIAA State Championship qualifier.

"Alexandra thrives to not only achieve her personal goals, but also pushes her fellow teammates in accomplishing their individual and team goals," said Boucher. "She set an example to her fellow team members where the younger swimmers look up to her or seek advice in specific techniques in specific strokes."
