Kennedy-Donovan Center’s 50th Anniversary Gala raised $215,000 that will go to support the nonprofit organization which provides support to people with developmental disabilities and/or delays and family challenges.
The event was held June 1 at Avenir in Walpole.
The proceeds will go to support 10,000 families across Massachusetts and northeastern Connecticut. The event drew over 300 attendees, all of which were friends, supporters and staff.
KDC’s President and C.E.O. N. Paul TonThat said “Saturday was such a spectacular evening for all of those who celebrated KDC with us. It was a time to not only reflect on all that KDC has accomplished during these last five decades, but it was a time to celebrate together and to continue to build momentum for the future.”
Key sponsors for the evening included Bristol County Savings Bank and The TJX Companies, Webster Bank and DCD Automotive Holdings/BOCH. Keynote speaker was Mary Ellen Goodwin, who spoke about her family’s experience with KDC.
Honorees of the evening were the family of Luella Hennessey Donovan, including Ted Carr, Donovan’s great nephew and KDC board member.
Funds were raised via event sponsorships, donations, fund-a-need pledges, both silent and live auctions, and ticket sales.
