ATTLEBORO — A city woman went off to jail Friday after pleading guilty in Attleboro District Court to stealing $40,000 from a 64-year-old Attleboro man for whom she was caring.

Crystal L. Allison, 35, of 103 Bank St., Attleboro, was sentenced to serve 60 days of a one-year jail term after pleading guilty to larceny.

The balance of the term was suspended for two years with probation, according to court records.

The disposition of the case was reached last week, but Allison was given time to get her affairs in order before signing a court document acknowledging her plea.

She will also have to pay about $2,400 in restitution.

Allison knew the victim, now deceased, since she was 16, according to court documents.

She admitted to draining his bank account over a seven-month period that ended in January of last year.
