NORTH ATTLEBORO — Bob & Timmy’s Grilled Pizza, a famed pizzeria on Federal Hill in Providence, is coming to North Attleboro.

Owner Jose Sanchez, who bought the tiny franchise in 2007, was before selectmen Thursday seeking a victualer’s licence.

Sanchez said he hopes to open the North Attleboro restaurant at 429 South Washington St., in a plaza across from the CVS pharmacy near Route 120, by Oct. 15.

“We’re very excited to grow our business in a different state,” Sanchez said. “As soon as I walked through the doors I knew it was where I wanted to open my third location.”

It will be the third Bob & Timmy’s. Another is in North Smithfield, R.I.

GQ magazine ranked the pizzeria No. 5 among the nation’s Top 25 pizza restaurants in 2009.

“I want to continue to work hard and gain new customers. I want to show them why it was ranked No. 5 in the country,” Sanchez said.

Sanchez, who started working at Bob & Timmy’s as a dishwasher in 1992, took over the restaurant as co-owner in 2007. In 2013, he became the sole owner.

USA Today named Bob & Timmy’s the best pizza in Rhode Island, and it has been featured on TV shows like “Man vs. Food” and “The Rhode Show.”

The pizzeria is known for it’s casual atmosphere, smoky thin-crust, fire-grilled pizza and pasta sauce.
