NORTH ATTLEBORO -- A 28-year-old man faces charges he allegedly punched and choked another man in the apartment building where they both live.

Joseph F. Gonzalez, 17 Richards Ave., was arrested about 9:35 p.m. Saturday after police were called to the apartment house.

The alleged victim, a 56-year-old man, was taken by ambulance to Sturdy Memorial Hospital for treatment but left against medical advice, according to court records.

The man told police the alleged assault was unprovoked, according to court records.

Gonzalez faces charges in Attleboro District Court of assault and battery and suffocation or strangulation, according to court records.
