NAMS Rachel Walk

The North Attleboro Middle School in 2017 held their 6th annual Friends of Rachel Walk on the high school track and football field in memory of Rachel Joy Scott, the first victim at Columbine.

NORTH ATTLEBORO — Police officers have donated cases of juice and water to middle school students for their 7th annual Friends of Rachel Kindness Walk Friday.

The club raises money for an organization that promotes tolerance and kindness in schools and opposes bullying. It is named after Rachel Scott, the first student killed in the Columbine High School shootings in Colorado.

The club was started by middle school teachers Kathie Carley and Kathie Berry, according to the police Facebook page.

The event involves students walking around the high school track and collecting money pledged by friends and relatives.

The police department and the police union donated the drinks.
