Ruby Tuesday

Three Ruby Tuesday locations in Southern New England have closed, but the national chain’s restaurants in the Attleboro area remain open.

Restaurants in East Greenwich and Johnston, R.I., and Swansea have signs posted outside saying they’re closed. At at least some of those restaurants, the sign is covered.

However, Ruby Tuesdays in Attleboro and Wrentham were open Thursday.

An employee at the Wrentham location said they weren’t aware of any plans to close and the employee at the Attleboro location said they couldn’t comment but were open.

There is also a Ruby Tuesday in Taunton.

Other Ruby Tuesday locations around the country have also closed, including in New Jersey and New York.

Ruby Tuesday, based in Tennessee, had no comment Thursday.

The company once had 1,000 restaurants in the United States and overseas.

Ruby Tuesday announced in 2016 that it would close 100 locations over the following two years to increase profitability. It is unclear if the recent closings were part of that plan.
