Wrentham Election

Three young Democrats are seeking their party’s nomination for state Senate in the Sept. 4 primary election.

They are running for the right to oppose incumbent state Sen. Richard Ross, R-Wrentham, in the November general election.

Ross does not have a primary opponent.

Jackie Katz, 35, of Norfolk, a public school teacher, attorney Kris Aleksov, 35, of Wayland and attorney Rebecca Rausch, 38, of Needham are running in a district that, locally, includes half of Attleboro and all of North Attleboro, Plainville, Wrentham and Norfolk.

The primary falls on the day after Labor Day so candidates are trying to get the word out that voters have to cast their ballots right after the unofficial end of summer.

A brief look at each of the the candidates follows.
