NORTH ATTLEBORO - The North Attleboro High School Theatre Company will present its 45th Annual One Act Play Festival at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 in the Judith E. Cobb Theatre. That's a change from the previously announced time of 7 p.m. due to the Patriots-Texans playoff game, which will start at 8:15 p.m. at Gillette Stadium.
The following three plays will be presented.
* "The Family Jewels" follows two aristocrats who are forced to sell off their precious gems in order to pay their taxes. Among the buyers is a crew of melodramatic moochers from around the globe, and the pair hires a renowned sleuth to figure out who is trying to abscond with the family jewels.
* "Balcony Scene" follows the tragic death of a young man who is able to witness his own funeral as a spirit. His disillusioned view that he was a beloved man is shattered as he comes to terms with the fact that his "friends" really considered him to be unlikeable and unstable.
* "Dystopia! The Hungry Maze Game of Divergent Death" presents the comical adventures of contestants in a lethal labyrinth overseen by a cruel game-master and her two dim-witted guards.
The audience will vote for their favorite actor and actress in each play and their favorite play overall.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for high school and younger students and senior citizens, and will be on sale during lunch and before and after school in room 101 from Theater Director Lisa Forsgard.
