PLAINVILLE -- The Plainville firefighters have adopted the Jackson School, according to a news release from the school.

“For the past few years they have made it a point to attend each first-grade performance — something all the first-graders look forward to,” said music teacher Laurie Durand.

“And, if they are not able to attend the show, they will go and watch the video of the show with that class.”

To show their appreciation, the first-graders — shown above watching a video with the firefighters — wrote this thank-you note:

“Dear Plainville firefighters: Thank you for coming to our music shows. We hope you loved them. It was so special that you took time in your busy schedules to share our special performances. Thank you for all you do to protect Plainville. We are all so lucky to live in such a wonderful town. Sincerely,  the first-grade class, Class of 2027, Jackson School.”
