SACO, Maine — Already a three-time MIAA All-State champion in the shot put, Seekonk High’s Cammie Garabian rounded out her high school career by winning her first outdoor New England shot put title at Saturday’s New England Interscholastic Track and Field Championship Meet at Thornton Academy.
Garabian turned in a personal best throw in the shot put of 47-feet to capture the crown. The Warriors’ senior also placed third in the discus at 127-feet.
A week earlier, Garabian won the shot put at the All-State Meet with a throw of 45-1.
The North Attleboro High girls’ 4x100 relay squad of Lily Wetherbee, Vanessa Ibrahim, Celine Ibrahim and Sam Hawkins also shined at the New England Meet, placing second in 49 seconds.
