NATIONAL SUMMARY

Mild and mainly dry weather is expected across the Northeast

tomorrow. Farther west, a storm system will sweep through

the lower Great Lakes with a mixture of rain and snow, as

well as a swath of accumulating snowfall from Minnesota to

Michigan. Widespread showers and thunderstorms are forecast

farther south from the Ohio Valley to the Carolinas and Deep

South. Despite some clouds and wet weather, unseasonable

warmth is forecast across the Southern states with some

daily record highs challenged. Below-normal temperatures

will hold firm across the northwestern part of the nation,

with the core of the cold in the northern Plains. A new

storm will reach the Northwest coast with areas of rain and

snow.
