ATTLEBORO — The Attleboro High School graduating Class of 1955 has found a unique way to celebrate its class reunion.

Graduates will gather at Florence Sweet Clubhouse Friday afternoon to participate in a live broadcast over WARA, the AM radio station that was found at 1320 on the dial and was popular in Attleboro in those days.

Edward Stanton, one of the organizers of the reunion, said WARA was a major source of entertainment in Attleboro for his classmates.

He said Domenic Cotoia of the station will be at the reunion, broadcasting and playing hit songs from that era, such as “Unchained Melody,” and “Maybelline.”

The reunion will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stanton said he is expecting about 40 of the class’s 125 members.

He encourages anyone who cannot attend to tune in on the radio.
